Evaluating Business Communication Essay

This paper incorporates the view of four communiquã ©s. This sort of recognition is a portrayal of whether these reports are precise, moral, and in the right organization. This paper gives a portrayal of the type of authority and the precision of the reports in this kind of administration. When composing a business communiquã © an individual needs to think about a few factors. The reason, crowd, and initiative sort of the organization must be viewed as when giving an account of a choice. This paper incorporates the survey of the four communiquã ©s and shows choices on reports where or not they were exact, and right in the detailing styles utilized. The following is the breakdown of this assessment on the reports. In this paper, there are four communiquã ©s that were looked into which comprised of an email, letter, formal report, and an update. These reports passed on that the securing being referred to ought not continue. This report incorporates the purpose behind not proceeding in all the reports, and the right configuration of casual or formal was utilized in each. It is viewed as that the conventional report to the organization Chief Executive Officer was the right arrangement, yet the letter, email, and notice could have been replaceable for sending this data to the showcasing director, bookkeeping friends, or project lead. Then again, since these reports were composed by the staff bookkeeper and the bookkeeping supervisor, it made every one of these representatives equivalent in position to the individuals they were comparing with, in this way the casual report was right. The reports could be improved by a few different ways. One route is to incorporate the quantities of the working costs and deals that are referenced, and the other would be a clarification of the apparition stock that the staff bookkeeper accepts is being accounted for. This would be a significant point to include. Explanations of benefits and misfortunes are incorporated, yet there is no data to back the data up. In this manner, it would be critical to see precisely what the bookkeeping staff has found. Too little data is utilized in every one of these reports. When composing these communiquã ©s, it is accepted that since the organization workers utilize the fair style administration and most have assisted with this choice, that an official choice for the proposal will expectedly accompany numerous beneficiaries of these communiquã ©s, so the manner in which these reports are arranged is worthy and doesn't speak to a style unique in relation to the organization style. Understudies additionally took a gander at moral ramifications of sending this data through reports in the organization. This data is significant and moral to send, on the grounds that these reports are for workers who are engaged with the procurement of the organization. Simultaneously, each report must incorporate the data must be stayed with secret inside the main. This could bring about a claim if the other organization is influenced and chooses to discover another purchaser later on. All in all, the investigated communiquã ©s were finished in the data that should have been clarified, didn't have any data that was a bit much, and was in the right organization for each planned beneficiary. The Life and Times of Lionel Richie Annotated Bibliography

Lionel Richies life and music career has been a fascinating and eventful one.   He is a famous singer, songwriter, musician and record producer as well as an activist. Lionel Brockman Richie was born on June 20, 1949 in Tuskegee, Alabama USA; son of a system analyst and an educator1. He grew up on the campus of Tuskegee Institute before his family moved to Illinois, where he graduated from high school. Being a great tennis player, he was granted a tennis scholarship and went to Tuskegee Institute, where he graduated with a major in economics in 1974. While he was in college, he joined the Commodores, a soul music group[i]. His music career began in Tuskegee where he formed a number of groups in the mid 1960s. When he joined the commodores in 1968 as a singer and saxophonist, he signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records for one record then moved to Motown records. The Commodores became an established and popular soul group, something that is mostly attributed to Lionels talent. He spent more than a decade as the lead singer with the Commodores and became a famous face and a ladies favourite. The groups first records such as Machine Gun and Brick House were a hit. Lionel continued to write more romantic songs such as Easy, Three Times a Lady and Sail On which had tremendous success. In the late 1970s, he composed songs for other artists at a commission. Lionel established a strong friendship with Kenny Rogers for whom he wrote the number one hit Lady in 1980 and produced Rogers album Share your Love in 1981. In the same year, alongside Diana Ross, he composed and sang the theme song for a romanti c drama film ‘Endless love’. The song became a hit single for UK and US pop music charts. This further encouraged Lionel to take his own path in his music career[1]. He left the Commodores in 1982 to pursue his career as a full-fledged solo artist, although his decision did not negatively affect the group, which according to Grove’s Dictionary, gave him a boost because there was no conflict of interest (Pratt and Boyd, 51). He was replaced by Skyler Jett as the lead singer in 1983. In this year, Lionels hit album which had three hit singles that still carried Commodores style, won him his first two Grammy Awards as Best Male Vocalist and Album of the Year, and sold over ten million copies. Several hits followed after that and Lionel boasts of five ballads that have been top ten in the UK and US charts. The peak of his career was a result of a number of rich, sentiment and funky creations such as Hello, All Night Long, Say You, Say Me (which was used as the theme song for the film ‘White Nights’ and won an Oscar Award), Stuck on You among others. â€Å"It was his intention to have the hit single Say You, Say Me ready at the sa me time the movie was released with this song as its theme†[2]. He worked with the legendary pop star Michael Jackson and co-wrote the USA for Africa charity song We are the World which was recorded by an all-star artists group to raise millions of dollars for famine in Africa and consequently became a famous hit in 1985. He continued with this trend and his songs held top position on the Billboards Year End 100 chart for up to four weeks. In 1987, he finally took a break to take care of his ailing father in Alabama after an exhausting work schedule and nearly two decades of non-stop recording and performance. When his father died in 1990, Lionel made a come-back after releasing his fourth album Back to Front which was a compilation of the previous albums and it held first position in the Dutch Album Top 100 chart for twelve weeks. He embarked on a more relaxed schedule which saw his recording and performance career remain at minimum. For a long time, he had been under pressure to change his music style with the changing times, but in 1996 he released Louder than Words which maintained his soul music style which has come to be known as contemporary R B. Unfortunately, from this release on, his compositions did not achieve the success of his earlier songs although he maintained popularity in Europe as compared to the US. In this regard, since 2004, Lionel has produced an impressive top forty singles in the UK. He made a break-through when he released a studio album titled Coming Home which contained a single I Call it Love in 2006 that starred his adopted daughter Nicole Richie in the video, and it became his biggest hit in the US in ten years. In recent years, Lionel Richie has performed in famed shows such as American Idol, Australian Idol, Sydney Opera House and many others. His spring 2008 album, Just Go was also a big hit both in US and Europe. To this day, he takes his performing career seriously and is set to take concert tours of Australia and New Zealand in March and April 2011. So far, he has sold more than a hundred million records throughout his career. His family life however has not been without controversy. In 1975, Lionel married his college sweetheart Brenda Harvey and they informally adopted Nicole Camille Escovedo, the two-year-old daughter of one member of Lionels band and raised her as Nicole Richie[ii]. The couple legally adopted her at the age of nine. During their marriage, Lionel also had a relationship with Diane Alexander in 1986 which resulted in an ugly confrontation between the three parties. He finally divorced Brenda in 1993 after seventeen years of marriage. He married Diane in 1995 and they had a son, Miles and a daughter, Sofia in 1994 and 1998 respectively. They divorced in 2004. Nicole gave birth to Lionels grandchildren a baby girl and a boy in 2008 and 2009 respectively. Apart from music, Lionel Richie has been a breast cancer activist inspired by his grandmother who was diagnosed with it in the 80s but recovered and lived to 104 years. He helped to raise over $3 million for the Breast Cancer Foundation. He also planned to re-record the charity tune We are the World alongside Quincy Jones, and several other artists have asked to take part which is also expected to pay tribute to the late Michael Jackson. Lionel Richie has had a blissful career which was not short of ups and downs. In total he has produced a total of thirty four albums and three hundred and fifty two albums in nearly four decade of singing, writing and performing. His songs are still favorite soundtracks for many of his fans and he is perceived as one of the most accomplished artists of all times. Digital Fortress Chapter 6 Free Essays

Although Ensei Tankado was not alive during the Second World War, he carefully studied everything about it-particularly about its culminating event, the blast in which 100,000 of his countrymen where incinerated by an atomic bomb. Hiroshima, 8:15 a.m. We will write a custom essay sample on Digital Fortress Chapter 6 or any similar topic only for you Order Now August 6, 1945-a vile act of destruction. A senseless display of power by a country that had already won the war. Tankado had accepted all that. But what he could never accept was that the bomb had robbed him of ever knowing his mother. She had died giving birth to him-complications brought on by the radiation poisoning she’d suffered so many years earlier. In 1945, before Ensei was born, his mother, like many of her friends, traveled to Hiroshima to volunteer in the burn centers. It was there that she became one of the hibakusha-the radiated people. Nineteen years later, at the age of thirty-six, as she lay in the delivery room bleeding internally, she knew she was finally going to die. What she did not know was that death would spare her the final horror-her only child was to be born deformed. Ensei’s father never even saw his son. Bewildered by the loss of his wife and shamed by the arrival of what the nurses told him was an imperfect child who probably would not survive the night, he disappeared from the hospital and never came back. Ensei Tankado was placed in a foster home. Every night the young Tankado stared down at the twisted fingers holding his daruma wish-doll and swore he’d have revenge-revenge against the country that had stolen his mother and shamed his father into abandoning him. What he didn’t know was that destiny was about to intervene. In February of Ensei’s twelfth year, a computer manufacturer in Tokyo called his foster family and asked if their crippled child might take part in a test group for a new keyboard they’d developed for handicapped children. His family agreed. Although Ensei Tankado had never seen a computer, it seemed he instinctively knew how to use it. The computer opened worlds he had never imagined possible. Before long it became his entire life. As he got older, he gave classes, earned money, and eventually earned a scholarship to Doshisha University. Soon Ensei Tankado was known across Tokyo as fugusha kisai-the crippled genius. Tankado eventually read about Pearl Harbor and Japanese war crimes. His hatred of America slowly faded. He became a devout Buddhist. He forgot his childhood vow of revenge; forgiveness was the only path to enlightenment. By the time he was twenty, Ensei Tankado was somewhat of an underground cult figure among programmers. IBM offered him a work visa and a post in Texas. Tankado jumped at the chance. Three years later he had left IBM, was living in New York, and was writing software on his own. He rode the new wave of public-key encryption. He wrote algorithms and made a fortune. Like many of the top authors of encryption algorithms, Tankado was courted by the NSA. The irony was not lost on him-the opportunity to work in the heart of the government in a country he had once vowed to hate. He decided to go on the interview. Whatever doubts he had disappeared when he met Commander Strathmore. They talked frankly about Tankado’s background, the potential hostility he might feel toward the U.S., his plans for the future. Tankado took a polygraph test and underwent five weeks of rigorous psychological profiles. He passed them all. His hatred had been replaced by his devotion to Buddha. Four months later Ensei Tankado went to work in the Cryptography Department of the National Security Agency. Despite his large salary, Tankado went to work on an old Moped and ate a bag lunch alone at his desk instead of joining the rest of the department for prime rib and vichyssoise in the commissary. The other cryptographers revered him. He was brilliant-as creative a programmer as any of them had ever seen. He was kind and honest, quiet, and of impeccable ethics. Moral integrity was of paramount importance to him. It was for this reason that his dismissal from the NSA and subsequent deportation had been such a shock. Tankado, like the rest of the Crypto staff, had been working on the TRANSLTR project with the understanding that if successful, it would be used to decipher E-mail only in cases pre-approved by the Justice Department. The NSA’s use of TRANSLTR was to be regulated in much the same way the FBI needed a federal court order to install a wiretap. TRANSLTR was to include programming that called for passwords held in escrow by the Federal Reserve and the Justice Department in order to decipher a file. This would prevent the NSA from listening indiscriminately to the personal communications of law-abiding citizens around the globe. However, when the time came to enter that programming, the TRANSLTR staff was told there had been a change of plans. Because of the time pressures often associated with the NSA’s anti-terrorist work, TRANSLTR was to be a free-standing decryption device whose day-to-day operation would be regulated solely by the NSA. Ensei Tankado was outraged. This meant the NSA would, in effect, be able to open everyone’s mail and reseal it without their knowing. It was like having a bug in every phone in the world. Strathmore attempted to make Tankado see TRANSLTR as a law-enforcement device, but it was no use; Tankado was adamant that it constituted a gross violation of human rights. He quit on the spot and within hours violated the NSA’s code of secrecy by trying to contact the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Tankado stood poised to shock the world with his story of a secret machine capable of exposing computer users around the world to unthinkable government treachery. The NSA had had no choice but to stop him. Tankado’s capture and deportation, widely publicized among on-line newsgroups, had been an unfortunate public shaming. Against Strathmore’s wishes, the NSA damage-control specialists-nervous that Tankado would try to convince people of TRANSLTR’s existence-generated rumors that destroyed his credibility. Ensei Tankado was shunned by the global computer community-nobody trusted a cripple accused of spying, particularly when he was trying to buy his freedom with absurd allegations about a U.S. code-breaking machine. The oddest thing of all was that Tankado seemed to understand; it was all part of the intelligence game. He appeared to harbor no anger, only resolve. As security escorted him away, Tankado spoke his final words to Strathmore with a chilling calm. â€Å"We all have a right to keep secrets,† he’d said. â€Å"Someday I’ll see to it we can.† How to cite Digital Fortress Chapter 6, Essay examples

Breadwinner Summary free essay sample

The characters In the Breadwinner show that when life changes to be harder. people have to change themselves to be stronger, Two important examples are Parvana and Shauna. They cut off their hair, wear boys clothes and go to the market place to earn money for ther famllles living. Parvanas Job Is to read, write and sell things while Shauna works as a tea boy. At first, Parvana does not want to do her fathers work but then she she agrees and says, All right, Ill do It (66). Even though they are still school aged, they have to struggle with a tough lite to gain every single coin. Also, the readers can not deny the effort in balding up a small secret school. Mrs. Weera knows the Talibans rule that girls can not go to school as well as that females must stay at home. Therefore, Mrs. Weera makes her own plan to build the school underground. She says, A secret school, for a small number of girls, a few hours d week (100). After making the plan, they do It, Through mothers and Mrs. Weeras womens group, a little secret school was started (132). All of the ontinuous actions of Parvana, Shauzia, Mrs Weera and Pavanas mother demonstrate that people must be much wiser to figure out d good plan to pass over the hindrance. In addition, the settings also adds to making the story express the Idea that when life changes to be more difficult, people have to build themselves up. One day, Parvanas older sister, Noorla, announces that she Is going to Mazar-e-sharlf to get married toa boy that she has never met. In Kabul, Noona knows that. There is no future for me here. At least in Mazar I can go to school, walk the streets without having to wear a urqa, get a Job when Ive completed the school (136). she Is going there because, In that area, there is no war going on and she wants to continue to go to school and then to college. The new Nooria stops sobbing and stops remembering the beautiful past recollections. she accepts the present situation that she has to do something to escape Kabul- a stupid place Although she is still young, she is able to make a reckless decision. Because life In Kabul is poor and pathetic, she completely wants to turn her lite toa new chapter. Besides Nooria, Parvanas tather presents great atriotism towards his home country of Afghanistarn Both of Parvanas parents are educated people and they earn high salaries. They used to have a big house with Afghanistan, the father chooses to stay in his hometown instead of going to a new setting in a foreign country, Parvana remembered arguments between her father and mother- her mother insisting they leave Afghanistan, her father insisting they stay (128). If they had gone to foreign countries, they would have lived happily, as the father could teach history and the mother could be a Journalist. Like Parvanas father elieves that Afghanistan needs improvements, If someone comes into our home or our country and acts like our enemy, then we will defend our home (28). He also emphasises that, We are Afghans. This is our home. If all educated people leave, who will rebuild the country? (45). The lives of the characters show how people can improve to conquer their difficulties. In the similar way, the conflict is a significant factor to state do not lose energy and belief, keep doing harder eventhough obstacles come countinuously. In three prominent instances, the conflict is people versus selves. The first example is when Parvana and Shauzia are recommended to dig up the bones under graves. At first, Parvana objects to do this kind of Job, she says, l am not sure this is a good idea (104), because she is so frightened and obsessed about the bad work. But, soon, she makes up her mind to dig up the bones she says, Shauzia and I want to buy trays, and things to sell from trays. I can follow the crowd that way, instead of waiting for the crowd to come to me. I can make more money (116). Parvanas money from reading and writing is Just enough for nan, rice and tea, but theres nothing extra and her family needs money or rent, for propane, for fuel for the lamps. Thats why she is greedy to make much more money so that she is able to improve herself. Initially, Parvana is so lazy. She does not want to do housework (tidying and cleaning the house, ) so her main mission is to fetch the water buckets. She is tired of fetching the water. She complains and grumbled all the way down the steps and down the block to the neighborhood tap. The trip home, with a full bucket, was worse, especially the three flights of stairs (20). If originally Parvana is indolent, Parvanas present is more mature. She is growing up. She knows how to get even more money to support her familys living. Second example of the conflict that supports the theme is after Nooria, Fantana, Maryam and Ali arrive in Mazar, Parvana meets Homa and takes her to Parvanas tiny home. Parvana and Mrs Weera listen to Homas brutal story. Homa tells them that the Taliban came to Mazar! They went from house to house, looking for enemies. They came to my house. They came right inside! They grabbed my father and my brother and took them outside. They shot them right in the street. My mother started hitting them, and they shot her, too. I ran back inside and hid in my closet. I was there for a long, long time. I thought they would kill me, too, but they were finished killing people at my house. They were busy killing at other houses (151). Mazar is ruled by the Taliban. Parvanas mother, sister, brother have just arrived there so Parvana is worried about them from the moment hearing the story. Parvana wanders about like a lost soul. She reacts, Parvana couldnt move. She couldnt speak. All she could do was picture her mother, sisters and brother, dead in the street of strange city (152). At that time, Parvana is hopeless and all she can do is lie down on her homes toshak for two days. After two days, Parvana thinks, Shed known all along that she would have to get up. She wasnt really about to stay on that toshak, and realises it will be better to earn money and survive until her family reunites. She moves her buttocks away from the toshak and works her usual Jobs. She does her work in the market place, listens to Mrs Weera and gets to know Homa. The readers can see that Parvana is getting stronger day by day. She acts in accordance to what Mrs. Weera says that, This is what women in our family do when theyre sad. They dont stay there forever. They get up again , and they fght back (153). The third example of the conflict is after Mrs Weera listens to Homas story. She states hopefully, There is no evidence your family is hurt, Parvana. Your mother is a smart, strong woman, and so is Nooria. We must believe they are alive. We must not give up hope! (152). The first reason for Parvanas family hope is that the father comes back, and Parvanas family still countinues to hope. Parvana, her father and Mrs. Weera hope is also that the rest of family is safe and healthy in Mazar. But this time they are more confindent with their hope. Parvana says with complete confidence, Well find them. Well find them and bring them home (160). Parvana and her close friend, Shauzia, also hope when they say goodbye. Shauzia says, well meet again on the first day of spring, twenty years from now (165). At the end of the story, everything is still a question but it is getting better for Parvana. She is more experienced, relax and ready. Parvana now has no more worries, no more sobbing, and no more laziness. Parvana shows, whatever it was, she felt ready for it. She even found herself looking forward to it (166). Once more, these changes in attitude completely prove the point of view keep being stronger, follow step by step f the plan and then people will achieve your goal. The Breadwinners author advises the readers that when life changes to be harder, change yourself to be stronger. Obviously, we can see that message through the characters, the settings and the conflicts. Life is never easy. Today, people are suffering but tomorrow people may be happy and mature as long as they do not give up. If people do not experience bad times, they will never feel happy with the good times. Members in the family have to lean on one another as well as support each other, because people always says, together we stand, divided we fall.

Being able to make audience members experience emotions because of a performance I give is one of the greatest feelings in the world. My theatre teacher gave me the opportunity sophomore year to take part in the school play. Unfortunately because of scheduling difficulties and actors having to drop out of the show, the show had to be cancelled. Even though we were not able to perform it on stage I was able to go through the rehearsal process for about 4 weeks. Experiencing the stress of memorizing lines, blocking the script, and losing a voice for about two days made me realize the love I have for acting. After that experience I knew that acting was the one thing I wanted to pursue in my life. I quit football, much to the coach’s dismay, and focused solely on theatre and played basketball just for fun. It was then when I learned that my physical appearance does not define who I am.

How to Write an Enduring Issues Essay Expert Help from Professionals

How to Write an Enduring Issues Essay Expert Help from Professionals How to Write an Enduring Issues Essay All students must know how to write an enduring issues essay. Read our recommendations and guidelines to improve the quality of your academic work. How to Improve Your Enduring Issues Essay Writing Tip #1: Choosing an Ensuring Issue and Creating a Thesis Statement One of the first things to do is choosing an enduring issue you want to analyze in your paper. Choose an issue that is well-researched. This way, you will find enough evidence to support your position. Find at least three credible documents related to the enduring issue of your choice. Scan them and isolate the most important information. Use it to develop a thesis statement. You cannot write a perfect enduring issues essay if you do not create a compelling thesis. It is strongly advisable that you write your essay as an argumentative paper. Your thesis should become the last sentence of the introduction. Review the examples below to formulate a thesis related to your chosen enduring issue: The enduring issue of hunger and poverty affects millions of people on the planet, and only a collective policy effort can relieve the burden of hunger and resource scarcity facing humans. Radicalism and religiosity have always been the two ensuring issues for people, and the 21st century should become the time of appropriate solutions, to protect the lives of people and create a space for continuous development into the future. Human trafficking is an enduring issue that affects men and women alike, and countries of the world should unite around the goals of human rights protection and welfare promotion to give as many people as possible a chance to avoid the chains of imprisonment. Please remember that you can choose among numerous enduring issues. You can also consider nested issues. In either case, you will need to provide compelling evidence that the issue is significant and deserves attention. You will need to explain how the issue of your choice has endured across time and space. For instance, human trafficking probably existed for centuries and took different forms. However, it is not until the beginning of the 21st century that it became a matter of global concern. How did it happen? You will need to write it in your enduring issues essay. Â  Tip #2: Gather Information from Multiple Sources How to write an enduring issues essay? You will need to collect extensive information from outside sources. You will need to scan dozens of documents to support your thesis statement and defend your position. Make sure that you have a lot of relevant information from multiple sources. Incorporate it into your argument. Otherwise, it will be weak and inconclusive. Anything will work. For example, you may want to scan historic documents that illustrate the patterns of gender relationships and marital unions leading to human trafficking. You may also want to locate historical documents, which highlight the changing perceptions of religiosity and radicalism in society. Do not reiterate obvious things! Your teachers are not stupid. They want to see how you use your analytical mind to produce a powerful enduring issues essay! Tip #3:Â   Bringing Together Analysis, Argumentation, and Impact As you look at an enduring issues essay example, you will remember your parents or your teachers telling you that quality is more important than quantity. However, when it comes to an enduring issues essay, both quality and quantity play a role. You will need to collect extensive evidence. However, you will need to be sure that this evidence is of unquestionably high quality. Do not hesitate to include valuable details! Provide insights into the nature and complexity of the enduring issue you are considering in your work. For example, if you decide to discuss the human trafficking issue mentioned above, you can follow two different pathways. Human trafficking has been an issue for decades and centuries; cases of rights violations were registered across the world. This looks like two sentences, obviously well formulated to express the main idea of your enduring issues essay. However, they are not enough to present a compelling and engaging argument. They do not create a context for analysis and argumentation. They simply state some simple truth. Instead, you should expand on these two sentences and incorporate evidence from outside sources. The result is this: Human trafficking represents a cluster of factors that expose individuals to the risks of health damage and human rights violations. According to Document 1, human trafficking was an issue during ancient times. Although it was not the only way for ruling parties to exert their influence on incumbents, it was a prevalent instrument exercised by people of power to achieve their mercenary goals. The Declaration of Human Rights creates a context for the analysis of human trafficking and associated violations. The beginning of the 21st century signifies a new era in human struggles to reduce the number of people who suffer from human rights violations. In this answer, you see evidence from other sources. It also speaks about how the issue evolved over time. Tip #4:Â  Analysis Is More Important than Summary As you have noticed, in your enduring issues essay you will need to show how the issue has persisted across centuries. You will also need to provide evidence of its impacts on people. Here, you may also want to discuss how people changed the progress of the issue or tried to resolve it in the past. This is why it is so important to analyze rather than summarize external information. Your paragraphs should have a topic sentence each and they should all be linked to the central enduring issue. Want to know how to write an enduring issues essay? Do not just summarize the information. A simple summary will earn you nothing but C. Be critical. Analyze information. Share the results of your analysis with the audience. Do not conceal facts, but be cautious when you present information from multiple sources, particularly if it is contradictory. If you want to know the secret of successful writing, it is simple, and it is here: analyze, analyze, analyze. Do not summarize.

Davidson argues that you can only find a solution to the problem of Essay

Davidson argues that you can only find a solution to the problem of other minds if you take it that knowledge about one's own mi - Essay Example In this relation, he asserts that the three knowledge forms a tripod in which the absence of any of them automatically makes it unable to stand; hence, it remains that the tripod must always be in the complementary of the thee cardinal categories of knowledge (Davidson, The essential 64). What is evident in the Donald’s argument is how evidence can be adduced in relation to the three knowledge. In regard to the knowledge of the mind and that of immediate surroundings, he states that they are not subject to much proof since they are directly construed by an individual and do not need much proof. This is because he claims that the knowledge of immediate world is subject to the functionality of the organs of senses (Davidson, The essential 99). Finally, he stipulates that the most complex knowledge is that of other people, for one to understand what others think about, one has to learn their behavior first and use that as evidence about his knowledge. In this case, he argues that what one knows about others dictates what is in his mind, which also combines those that he knows about his immediate environment making them interdependent. Explanation of the Logical Interdependence In brief, the term â€Å"logical interdependence† can be considered as two different words that can then be evaluated independently before they are enjoined in order to find their meaning. There are three terms in the statement that needs to be discerned to ensure the holistic understanding of the whole statement that are; â€Å"logical†, â€Å"inter†, and â€Å"dependence†. Starting with the term â€Å"logical†, we have to note that it is derived from the word â€Å"logics† which means the ability to reason with certain guiding principles of validity such that the conclusion is not a subject to any alteration, oversight, or intentional inclusion of all material facts. This enables proper inference to be made with regard to a situation that ca lls for such. In doing this, we will be trying to find a reasonable way of creating a distinction from what is fallacious or false from the right and valid (Davidson 5). Considering the usage of the term ‘inter’ in the statement, it means between or among other things; hence, it shows some relationship that exist in two or more things. In this regard, it shows that there can be deduction that can be made from the independent things, and shows the thread that weaves them together demonstrating the relationship that exists in them. In this case, it demonstrates how the three varieties of knowledge are dependent to one another. Finally, the consideration of the term â€Å"dependence† reveals that great link and association of the three knowledge varieties and how they supplement one another (Davidson, Truth 132). As Donald rightfully puts it, you cannot separate the knowledge about self, immediate environment and that of others, as they do work in tandem to corrobor ate and informs other facets of knowledge. The certainty in this case is evident when Donald states that the knowledge of what others thinks also informs what is in his mind illustrating the linkage and interdependence. In as much as others perceive regarding what one thinks about after learning their behavior as stated by Donald, one is capable of making a conclusion of what they think rationally and once he does that, it informs what is in their mind in relation to what others are thinking about. Therefore, in as much as one knows what others are t

Research topic related to intelligence collection Paper

Topic related to intelligence collection - Research Paper Example Proper intelligence is an inevitable component of the defense system of all governments in the world to evaluate the threat by external as well as internal elements and to protect their countries from exposure to attacks by terrorists. In this context, the development of technology is a crucial factor for enabling nations to monitor and exercise surveillance over the activities of various organizations that sponsor and promote terrorism and other subversive activities. Intelligence collection is a process of â€Å"collection, processing, integration, evaluation, analysis and interpretation of available information concerning foreign nations, hostile or potentially hostile forces or elements or areas of actual or potential operations† (Forcese 2011, 181). For obtaining such intelligence and to ensure the safety of their citizens, countries deploy modern technology. The effective collection of intelligence by the US government through Unmanned Aircraft System has enabled the cou ntry to attain a high level of operational success in the global war on terror. Human history, right from its initial stage has evidenced the use of human intelligence for the purpose of obtaining the movements of their enemies for preparing for offensive tactics in wars. Similarly, in order to fight terrorism, countries also need to collect intelligence on various terrorist organizations and evaluate their strategies for offensives to properly counter the problem of terrorism. In his message to war fighters, Joseph Reynes Jr., Major General USAF, states that proper surveillance can facilitate the â€Å"prediction of an adversary’s behavior and the formulation and execution of preemptive activities to deter or forestall† offensive attempts by such adversaries (Commander’s Handbook for Persistent Surveillance 2011). This handbook has been developed with an intention to provide an overview of the present systems of surveillance as well as discusses future needs for

Marketing Mix Analysis:- Recommendations and Conclusions:- The product mix for Pampers is broad and it contains a deep line. The special feature of Pampers is the new diaper core design including a new dual acquisition system which helps to improve the condition of babys skin through a better dryness performance. The Pampers core takes in urine from the diaper surface after loading. Fast acquisition minimizes babys contact time with the skin. A homogeneous blend of cellulose and a very absorbent material result in efficient distribution of the GM. The storage technology locks the urine away so that it cannot return to the babys skin. Leg elastics, barrier leg cuffs and the waist shield are added to provide greater leakage prevention. The fastening strips allow the diaper to be refastened over and over again. Balsam lotion on the top-sheet provides comfort and moisturizing to babys skin, each time he moves. Furthermore, labeling is also important to Pampers. Every label clearly shows the Pamper logo on its package. Labeling is also used as a way to educate consumers. For example, Pampers had a public campaign educating parents of the importance of placing their baby on their back to sleep to help prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (Back to sleep). The Back to Sleep message was printed on the back of all packages on diapers in order to educate and inform consumers of this serious matter. Pricing:- Pampers is a premium product that has a substitutes available in Pakistan; such as Baby Care, LG Maman Diapers, private and generic brands, Cloth Diapers. Pricing is done so that Pampers is economically affordable by all households. In addition, they use psychological pricing; all of their products prices end with a nine . This makes the consumer feel they are receiving a good value for their money. Pricing is also elastic; consumers may buy a different product if the price of that product is better. This is one reason why Pampers uses competition-based pricing when determining what the price for their products will be. Pampers major competitor is prices for the diapers are basically the same. This helps to maintain their portion of the market share. However, Pampers diaper wipe line costs a little more than Baby Care, LG Maman Diapers which gives Pampers the advantage of focusing on the quality of their diaper wipe line. Distribution for Pampers is intensive, allowing them to reach their target markets; thus staying competitive with their competitors. Pampers can be found in most grocery, convenience, drugstores, and retail stores.. Since Pampers products are convenience products distributing their products in many stores helps Pampers to remain competitive, maintain their market share, and gain a portion of the market as well . As market share of Pampers in Pakistan is 75 % (official website source) The promotional mix of Pampers contains a variety of elements through non personal selling. These elements include advertising, product placement, sales promotions, and public relations. All these methods of promotion are consistent with Pampers message. Advertising is done in magazines that pertain mostly to parenting, TV commercials, and billboards. Recently Pampers decided to cut back on their TV commercial air time and concentrate more of their advertising using product placement (Flint, 2005) Sales promotions are done on a continuous basis with Pampers. These types of promotions most normally include coupons, displays, rewards, and samples. Furthermore, they utilize direct marketing to some extent by brochures, and pamphlets that educate parents about their childs development stage while promoting and informing consumers about their products. PG in Pakistan, produces bar soaps and repacks bulk shampoos into sachets and bulk Pampers into smaller Pampers packs Pampers uses public relations throughout its entire global market. They make donations to many causes and are associated with many prominent organizations in Pakistan. Like They Step up to provide services to Earth Quake Hit areas last year in Pakistan. They have an global website for parents and healthcare professionals that help educate them on many aspects of babies and toddlers. Pampers has been successful in developing a well integrated communications strategy. Their message is consistent and they have coordinated their promotions to ensure that the consumers are well informed about their products. By educating parents about the developmental stages from newborn to toddler, Pampers has been able to successfully promote it products at the same time. Indicated Action/Recommended Changes:- Even though Pampers has a well built strategy in place, there is always room for improvement. Two areas where improvements could be implemented are in extending their product line and developing new promotional strategies. Their product line could be extended to include bath products such as baby soap and shampoo for the baby. This would be good in educating parents the importance of teaching cleanliness to their babies. Some what high prices of Pampers could not extensively attract the low income people in Pakistan, We recommend that Pampers could introduce the Value pack of 5 Diapers for 50 Rs, to attract the most part of population, The cost may be very large initially, but we think that this change will work wonder in long run for the Pampers ever bright future in Pakistan, People with low income use to buy open pamper pack , like one or two piece at a time, and retailers benefit this opportunity by charging high prices it could be made publicly beneficial by introducing small packs containing 2 -3 diapers. Lastly, Pampers could promote their product a little more vigorously. For example, to gain new customers and keep loyal customer they could place a coupon for diapers on their package or inside the package of diapers. This could help increase sales since fewer customers would want to switch to another brand that has a better price. Even though they do have the rewards program for purchasing Pampers, not all customers get to reap these benefits due to lack of internet or just not being aware of the program. Coupons would give all the fair chance of being rewarded by saving money when they purchase their products

Ego and Super Ego in Dante’s Inferno

Catherine Craven GHUM200, Tu/Th 12:25 October 23rd, 2012 Compare the relationship between Virgil and Dante in Inferno with Sigmund Freud’s discussion of the conscience or super-ego in Civilization and Its Discontents. How does Freud explain and characterize the relationship between super-ego and ego in the individual? Cite examples of the interaction between Virgil and Dante and compare closely with Freud’s discussion of the psychical agencies, super-ego and ego: To what extent does the dynamic between Virgil and Dante illustrate the same pattern or features? Freud meets Dante: Ego and Super-Ego in InfernoIn his book Civilization and Its Discontents, Sigmund Freud offers an explanation for why, as individuals, we tend to punish ourselves with guilt, often times in response to menial things. This explanation has led to the ideas of the ego, and the super-ego. According to Freud, one is responsible for our actions and how the world views us, while the other acts as a â₠¬Å"watchdog,† or an authority, in times of wrongdoing. An example of these two concepts is the relationship shared between the characters Dante and Virgil throughout Dante’s poem, The Divine Comedy Volume 1: Inferno. This relationship consists of an authoritative guide and a sinful follower, and therefore Dante and Virgil represent the relationship between the ego and the super-ego. In Civilization and Its Discontents, Sigmund Freud asserts that one of the primary and most important functions of a civilized society is to control the individual’s natural impulses towards aggressive behavior. These impulses, according to Freud, are caused by the ego, which is the element within an individual that is responsible for their actions, decisions, ideas, rationalizations, and logical thought. Therefore, the ego thinks things through, and eventually comes to decisions and actions, regardless of whether or not the things decided upon or thought about are deemed as â€Å"badà ¢â‚¬ by society. Furthermore, the ego seeks to avoid any kind of pain or suffering, and instead seeks out ways to gain personal happiness. However, According to Freud, the super-ego exists as a way to level out the ego, and, in a way, keep it in check. Therefore, the super-ego is responsible for an individual’s conscience, or, their ability to feel guilt.Freud continues his explanation of these concepts by asserting the idea that the super-ego calls our attention to our own failures and misconducts, and attempts to assist us in learning from them in order to avoid making similar mistakes in the future. Furthermore, the conscience is the form in which the super-ego controls our actions and thoughts, and creates guilt within us. Therefore, the ego is the decision-making, acting part of an individual, while the super-ego acts as the ego’s voice of authority and control (Freud). Moreover, the relationship between the characters of Dante and Virgil in Dante’s Infern o stands as an excellent example of the relationship between the ego and the super-ego. In the opening of the poem, the character of Dante finds himself lost in a place he does not know, surrounded by terrifying beasts. In this dark moment, Virgil, a ghost from an earlier time, comes forwards and reveals to Dante that, because sin has obstructed his path to God, he must journey through hell and purgatory in order to return to life, as he once knew it. This journey, according to Virgil, would allow Dante to overcome his sin and, at last, find God’s love. However, Dante does not believe he can complete the journey alone, at which point Virgil assures Dante that he will guide him throughout the entire voyage. Virgil takes on the role of Dante’s guide very naturally, and starts him on his trip through hell. Throughout the journey, Virgil makes sure that Dante is witness to the all of the horrible punishments that evil receives in hell, and what will be his fate if he does n ot return to the path of God. However, Virgil does not only physically guide Dante through the circles of hell, but also reinforces the moral lessons that he must learn from all of the things he sees.Furthermore, Virgil acts as a protector over Dante, keeping him safe from evil creatures, such as demons and monsters, although he does allow Dante to make decisions and learn lessons the hard way often. Furthermore, the relationship between Dante and Virgil can easily be compared, and made almost parallel to the relationship between the ego and the super-ego. Without a doubt, the ego in this situation is Dante. This can be seen in the way that Dante’s actions before his journey led him to stray from his path to God. As the ego, Dante’s sinful thoughts eventually led to sinful actions, which in turn led to Virgil’s intervention. Also, Dante chooses to complete the journey through hell because he wants more than anything to rid himself of his sins and start over with God’s love. This embodies the ego because it seeks out happiness, and attempts to avoid any kind of suffering. Moreover, Virgil represents the super-ego, and fully epitomizes the â€Å"watchdog† label that Freud gave to the term. For instance, the super-ego forces the ego to recognize failures, which causes guilt. In turn, the ego is given a better understanding of what it has done wrong, and is more easily able to correct fault.Virgil plays this role in the way that he confronts Dante about the sinful life he has led, and then takes him through hell, thus allowing him to see what he may become, and motivate change within him. Another example of the two characters representing the ego and super-ego is the way that Dante sympathizes with some of the sinners in hell, and Virgil’s reaction to it. As Dante interacts with the sinners and shows them compassion, Virgil does not stop him. However, Virgil is extremely impatient with Dante, and even more disapproving towa rds him.In these situations, Virgil plays the part of the super-ego by allowing Dante to make his own decisions and act on them, while simultaneously trying to moralize him by causing incredibly guilt. Eventually, Virgil’s actions work in his favor, and Dante realizes that he is not helping the sinners, but merely wasting his pity on them. This is a perfect example of the super-ego using guilt to force changes it feels are necessary on the ego. In conclusion, Freud’s ego and super-ego are clearly embodied by the characters of Dante and Virgil in Dante’s Inferno. The character of Dante begins the story as a sinful man who is not only in need of guidance, but that also very much desires to find God’s love and create a happier life for himself. The character Virgil then seeks him out in order to help and guide Dante through a journey of moral lessons and reality checks, using the power of conscience and guilt, as opposed to force. Therefore, the relationship between the ego and the super-ego is clearly illustrated in the relationship and journey of the characters Dante and Virgil in The Divine Comedy Volume 1: Inferno.
